Dual XDMR7710 In-Dash CD/MP3/WMA Receiver

I was really hoping this product was what it was made out to be. And it was. Amazon is bad ass. $70.00. NO TAX! And free shipping? What is better than that? Anyway. Back to the product. It was pretty use to install! The only problem I has was that when I opened it, it would hit the thing so I had to figure out how to make it set out further. Everything about this is great! 220 watts makes it super loud. I was never really a fan of dual audio but I thought of give it a shot and I'm glad I did. I hated my pioneer. This has bright colors. The sound quality is fantastic, but that also depends on the speakers. It does have sub outputs. The only complaint I have about this is my subs were hitting so much harder after I got this and i don't know how but it blew my subs. My amp wouldn't kick off for some reason when it got too loud. But oh well. Maybe it just happened. Has many options as well. You can have a cd with different folders. So you can have one cd with say metallica and have different folders with as many albums as the cd can hold. I love how long the aux chord is. I wired mine close to the deck but I couldve put it any where I wanted really. The remote works well. I love the case it came with to put the faceplate in. So you can take it anywhere without scratching it. You can set a volume so when you turn it on it's not blasting if you had it loud before. Has all the settings you need. It really does. I could see this product being $250. It is very nice.

Alpine CD-R/-RW/MP3/AAC/WMA Receiver, CDA-9886

MP3/Hard Drive issue :

I have always been an owner/user of Alpine recievers. Before I purchased this model, I wanted to make sure that the reciever I purchased had a usb input and had the ability to play mps's straight from a hard drive. It plays them just fine; the problem lies with how the unit navigates the file structure you have set up on your hard drive. I have a hard drive with about 80GBs of mp3's with standard Group/Album/Song structure, and instead of displaying only the base files, it disays every single one all at once, in a chaotic order. While connected to a hard drive full of mps3's, trying to find a particular album or song using this reciever is painstakingly annoying, and in some cases it won't even display certain folders.

For mp3 purposes, I think it's time to say goodbye to the hard drive idea and say hello to an ipod; at least with this reciever.

Pioneer Premier DEH-P510UB iPod AM/FM/MP3/WMA/AAC Receiver

At first I wanted an Alpine then found out that you needed to spend around 5 hundred extra to get a 7 band Eq. Then you needed a laptop on top of that to tune in the fancy Eq in your car. What a load of bull that was. Keenwood was my second choice and the same situation reared its ugly head. After carefully researching the competion I went with Premier by Pioneer. Clearly the best headunits with everything built right into the unit and no extra dollars need to be spent on an Eq. system. More bang for the buck and in todays times that is what I am looking for. Sorry Alpine, Kenwood you are not catering towards the working man who needs to save a little $ here and there. Premier is the only way to go in my book!

Nakamichi CD400 Sound Quality CD Player and AM/FM Receiver

This review is from: Nakamichi CD400 Sound Quality CD Player and AM/FM Receiver (Electronics)

Been a Nak owner since the mid 1980's when I had a Nak TD700 in my car. Paired with a/d/s/ 320i and 300i powered with 2 Nak PA300II amps. Sold the a/d/s 300i and 1 amp to a good friend since my car was totalled in an accident and picked up a Toyota pickup. The TD700 died and replaced with a Nak CD45z which the laser just crashed after 10 years. Replaced the unit with a Sony CDXGT930UI and couldn't make the sound even come close to a Nak. Cranked up, the Sony made my wife's and my ears ache so I pulled the unit out and replaced with the Nakamichi CD400 purchased from Woofers, Etc. through Amazon . It sounds awesome and still pushing the 20+ year old a/d/s/ speakers and Nakamichi PA300II amp with pure clean sound. Smooth jazz to heavy metal, its like heaven. Waiting to put an Infinity Basslink loaded subwoofer within the next month and the system should be complete. So happy Nakamichi is still producing great sounding products but the cost is 1/3 of what they used to cost. I'm forever a Nak fanboy and will never get anything else.

Custom Autosound USA-630 Vintage Style Radio

This review is from: Custom Autosound USA-630 Vintage Style Radio for All Vehicle Types

Installed the radio in a 67 Mustang. Purchased good quality Pioneer kick panel speakers. Radio sound quality is very poor. USB port is flaky - it works for a while then cuts out. Turn off car and restart and it will work again but only for a limited time. Tried a different USB drive - same problem. Contacted Customer Service - took a day to reach them. Tech said that cable may be bad. They sent a new cable - installed it - same problem.
